Also make sure that it isn't getting too warm.  I have a couple of systems
that will slow down the CPU when it starts getting warm.  (Laptop before I
found the utility to turn on the fan, AMD K6-233 if I run Distributed
Net for more the 20 hours before I added another case fan...)
