I also like Vnc and I had used Vnc,
but I find at least one advantage of WiredX.
WiredX is just X server, so I did not have to install any program on
my RedHat box. I just invoked IE on my Windows box and clicked mouse
buttons just a few times. And from my impression, WiredX runs quickly
than VNC. It is also free(free beer).

I think this stuff will be a good tool to convert Windows users to
Linux users.
