This first overload might be caused by the lightning.

Well, I am not so sure about that...

All I know is that VA <> W. The number on the UPS usually indicates VA. So if
you do the math (470 * 650/750 = 407), it seems your APC is not suited for its
job. Unplug some of the hardware and try again. If this helps I think your
reseller owes you a replacement.
And... Use your APM options!
