I am currently using backuponcd to backup our server to cdr. From a
fundamental code error in the original code, to the program locking up
during the backup process about every other time, I have anything but
stellar results with this software. I have looked around on freshmeat and a
few other sites, but I have not found any backup software that seems highly
used/recommended.
The requirements of the software I need are:
* Must write to a cdr or cdrw
* Must support multiple cdr backup (ie: not limited to one cd when backing
up)
* must be able to perform a full system backup
* must compress the files (ie: gzip)
* Stable
* simple program (I am still new to linux and would like to understand what
the backup software is doing)
If any one out there is using a program that has these characteristics or
similar performance and is happy with it, please let me know.
Thank you,
Jim Ewaka
