Ok, I have managed to recompile the 2.2.16-3 kernel. I now get a
virtual page fault on shutdown at the very end of the shutdown process
i.e. after The system is halted
appears on the screen I get the virtual page fault error. Where should
I begin checking to correct this. This is a limited machine used for
masquerade serving to a cabel modem [sson to be DSL line]. I suspect
there is a setting in Xconfig in kernel setup that I messed up.
