You have to have several -devel packages installed (imlib-devel,
fnlib-devel, gtk+-devel, glib-devel, ...). My advice would be this:
Get Helix GNOME. It's good. If you want to recompile, then install
_all_ of the Helix GNOME packages before recompiling each of the src.rpm
files. (Have you modified your rpmrc? Recompiling won't get you
anything if you don't change the target architecture and compiler
flags.)

No, you can get sources. I've got rpms (and src.rpms) on
ftp://duke.eburg.com/pub/linux/redhat-6.x-mycontrib/ that work, but have
installation problems. I'll fix them up in the next day or two.
