Thanks for all the comments & suggestions about my problem. I've got some
clues now. My modem is winmodem and from http://www.linmodems.org I got the
driver for my winmodem.
I've installed the driver and it can detect my winmodem. When I try Internet
connection using Dial up configuration tool, the last status is:
-> PPP negotiation detected
-> Starting pppd on ...
but it's still 'trying to connect' so I still couln't connect to Internet.
Another thing is that it has no dial tone.
Anybody can help?

WinModem. Disable it (if possible) and get a REAL modem. HSP modems
are "software" modems which, AFAIK, have no linux drivers at this
time. You can TRY to find drivers for it at www.linmodems.org.
