I am trying to modify the RH6.0 installation to include a new driver module.
Basically, I want to include the driver on the installation CD and insmod
it on booting the ramdisk. I found modules.cgz contained what I thought
was the database of drivers, and added mine to it (along with
changes to other files to get the installation to recognize the new
hardware). When I boot, I get the message under crtl-alt-f5(?)
"Cannot find archive member <my driver>.o : file does not exist in archive"

My question is, what archive?

When I hit ctrl-alt-f4, I see a modules.cgz that is around 900k, but
the one I build is ~600k. Is this the archive it's complaining about?
I don't have any idea where the 900k one came from... ?

Please forgive my ignorance - I'm new to this linux stuff : >
