Dear Ritha,  If you are using the standard RH6.1 distro (if not the 
version numbers before the .i386.rpm will be different):

  rpm -Uvh kernel-headers-2.2.12-20.i386.rpm

  rpm -Uvh glibc-devel-2.1.2-11.i386.rpm

Same thing happened to me when I tried to compile :-)
