Obviously not. Rather, my point is that I hope we can avoid being nasty to
each other. I think nastiness erodes the quality of participation on any
list.
And I think intolerance of mistakes, FAQs, newbie questions, etc. would be
particularly detrimental to a Linux mailing list because Linux is new to so
many people. (In fact, if you think about how broad "Linux" has become, I
suspect parts of it are new to almost everyone.) I think a Linux list
should be especially welcoming and I think this list has been.
In fact, I wonder if my rely to your post was too sharp... If I offended,
I apologize.
