Just some remarks here:
First, you are using an external ISDN router. This means you should probably
treat it as a serial device and use plain PPP, just like with an analog modem.
Nothing to do with the isdn4k package (please correct me if I'm wrong, and
maybe for CAPI).
Second, RedHat 6.1 contains an isdn package, so there is no need to compile
your own modules (I am not sure about the kernel). Again, this is probably
none of your concern since you should be using PPP, not IPPP. The startup
script is broken though. I adjusted it somewhat to work (for me). I posted
this rather large (and somewhat redundant) posting to the redhat-install-list.
I could send it to you of list (but you probably don't need it anyway).
You could install the ISDN package anyway, and check out the documentation
(some of it is not totally translated from german though), to make sure what I
say is correct. Furthermore, check out how you communicate with the router.
Does it use AT commands?
Hope this gets you a little further,
Leonard.
