I went to opensound's web site (www.opensound.com) and their product OSS
works,  it is $20 but I guess you have to pay sometimes.  Thanks for your
advice John.  By the way your not from Minneapolis are you?  I had a
schoolmate from grades 2-12 when I was growing up.
