When you did the install, did you let it install
dependencies?
I ask because:
1. You said you didn't install everything,
2. You are getting messages about missing libraries.
I haven't seen intermittent errors like you described
except with hardware problems,(not necessarily bad hardware,
sometimes incompatible hardware can cause it.)
run "more |dmesg" and check for boot error messages.
Describe your hard drive layout, are you using separate
ext2 partitions, or doing that new 6.2 running-from-a-file
thingy? It occurs to me that a drive image file on a
massive drive could be moving in and out of lilo's cylinder
limitations. (or could be partly above and below?)
I've seen really wierd error messages kind of like this
font-directory thing with library mismatches, too.
