You need to look at the actual headers of the email to determine where the spam came from. In comparison, 99% of my spam originate from PSI, UUnet, AOL and other dial-ups. Much of the time, the spammer relayes via a Chinese, Korean, Japanese or European open mail server, and sends it straight to the MX. Hotmail and other freemail providers are usually very quick about pulling spammers' accounts.
