Roadrunner, TimeWarner's cable modem service. The ip
address they provide is dynamic but activating dhcp did not
help. I've also tried the suggestions on linuxdocs.org to
no avail. I can connect without a problem when I boot to
windoze. Does anybody with cable modem access, or even
better, roadrunner users have any suggestions? Thanks to
all!

There's special software that'll do it. I *think* you need
a copy of "pump" but that's strictly from memory of reading
other people's problems. I suggest you check the archives
of the Mandrake list at www.linux-mandrake.com (find the
link to the mailing lists and on the signup page will be a
link to the archives) and also the archives of THIS list.
