Hi,

Sometimes while connected via ppp, things just seem to stop. I'm still
connected, but can't access anything. Now, I know the problem, just not
what's causing it. In /var/log/messages, there will be an entry somewhere
along the lines of "??lost compression something??, disableing compression".

Also, anyone know what might be causing my partitions not to unmount. At
every shutdown, /usr, /root, /backup, and if mounted, /mnt/cdhprw, and
/mnt/cddvd. These will fail 3 times, and on the fourth the system will
halt. Whenever I mount the cdroms, I will not be able to unmount until a
reboot, which is quite annoying. I'm getting to hate the saying "device or
resource busy"!!!

Thanks for any help,

Mark A Basil
