Shot in the dark: These messages weren't by any chance genereated on
bootup and you still had a CD in that CD-ROM? IIRC, this is regarded as
a "Disk change" on bootup - at least I've seen that on my RHL 5.2
systems whenever I still had a CD in the drive on reboot.
