Hi all:
For what it's worth: I posted a similar question several times during a
period when I tried to get PLIP running between two Linux-running PC's.
I
never did get it working completely -- always something would work, and
something would not work. Basically I could never communicate both ways
between the machines with all of the methods for exchanging files.
I used the HOWTO's plus an article in the Linux Journal that gave a good
description of the whole process. I never did understand why it wasn't
working. And of course it was a nuisance to have to attach the PLIP
cable
to the printer port and then take it off to print, etc, etc.
The responses I got from my postings were to forget PLIP and get a
couple of cheap ethernet cards.
If anyone has gotten PLIP working between two Linux-running PC's, I
would
certainly appreciate some info about it, and thanks....
Cheers,
