sound for linux

[dattatraya]

        i have a yamaha ds-xg audio codec sound card but i havent been able to use
it with my linux box. however it works well with win98 i have on the same
machine. any suggestions as to how i can configure sound for my box.

i have already tried the yamaha, redhat howtos and linuxhq websites but
found nothing that helped.... can anyone please help?
