digests truncated (semi OT)

Being a newbie, I've subscribed to the digest form of the list, learning as I
go, but I've noticed many (~50%) of the digests appear truncated by the time
they get to my mailer. That is, the "Today's Topics" might show 15 or 20 topics,
but the digest only has 4 or 5.

Is this normal, or is our mailserver wonky?
