You can install everything for Linux on the second hard drive.  The only
thing you may have to do is put a small /boot partition on the drive to
keep the kernel within the first 1023 cylinders.  The only thing that has
to be on the first drive is the LILO loader in the MBR, and you only have
to have that if you are using LILO to select what OS to boot.  If you use
something like System Commander to select the OS to boot, you can have
LILO install to your root or boot partition on the second hard drive.

One thing I should add - your BIOS must be able to see your second hard
drive, but that shouldn't be a problem with any fairly modern motherboard.
