Not sure if you sorted this problem or not, but I've just started using
RH6.2 (from 6.1) and likewise found that the X resources seemed to be
'missing' - i.e. 'xrdb -q' gave nothing. Looking at the X login bit it
seems to use as the users local X resources file of '.Xresources'. I have
previously used (and use on Sun systems) the file '.Xdefaults'. I just
copied .Xdefaults to .Xresources in my home directory; logged out then in
again, and the resources appeared.

I'm not quite sure if/how it worked before since I never noticed a problem
before RH6.2.
