Hi, I'm having a problem with my printer. I'm running Red Hat 6.1 with ghostscript. I can print graphics files and Web pages, but I can't print a regular ascii text file. I can do something like 'lpr file.ps' (PostScript file) and it'll print fine. I can also print from within apps like StarOffice and Acrobat Reader. But when I do something like 'lpr ~/.bashrc', nothing prints and there's no entry in lpq. I can't print the ascii test page from printtool, either. The only way I can print plain text files is by logging in as root and doing 'cat file.name > /dev/lp0'. This doesn't work for normal users. Any suggestions?
