I have two separate but related KDE questions for RedHat 6.1 and 6.2. Both machines have both GNOME and KDE (1.1.2), but are configured to use KDE window manager (kwm). On the RedHat 6.1 machine, when I "startx", I get KDE window display, with a couple windows and a bar across the top of the screen with buttons/icons corresponding to the windows. This seems to conform with what the documentation would lead me to expect. Unfortunately, this top bar conflicts with one of the features I use frequently, namely the ability to toggle a window between normal height and full-screen height. When I do the vertical-maximize, the name stripe on the window is obscured by the bar across the top of the screen, so I can't get at that window's control buttons. Is there some way around this? One the screenshots at the KDE website showed this bar at the bottom, but I couldn't find a way to reposition it. On a second machine, I repartitioned the disk and did a fresh install of RedHat 6.2. Strangely, the top bar doesn't appear at all in KDE on that machine. If I "iconify" a window, all traces of it on the screen disappear -- no icons or anything. I can get to the windows to uniconify them only through the window-list brought up by the middle mouse button. Is this a bug or some kind of installation problem? pete peterson GenRad, Inc. 7 Technology Park Drive Westford, MA 01886-0033 [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] +1-978-589-7478 (GenRad); +1-978-256-5829 (Home: Chelmsford, MA) +1-978-589-2088 (Closest FAX); +1-978-589-7007 (Main GenRad FAX) -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
