Nobody seems to know when that stuff will be introduced. We couldn't wait,
so we went ahead and bought an AIT-2 silo. We got one of these:

We did the 15 tape config w/2 AIT-2 drives inside. It rules. Not
insanely expensive either. It was about $13k. 1.125 TB per tape stack.
We're running it with Veritas' Backup product on Windoze 2k.
Veritas seemed like the best choice, even though it runs on Windoze.
Why? We get the web servers and file servers (which are all Linux)
through samba shares, and we also get Oracle & SQL Server agents that
work pretty well. I've got cron jobs that run mysqldump, and drops the
backup files where the server can grab them from. YMMV. HTH. HAND.
I'm working on getting the backup traffic off the production LAN though..
So, it's going to be secondary NICs && private addressing to create a b/u
network..
