It doesn't seem to me that DNS is caching correctly.  I have the 
current BIND 8 release installed and lookups to about 1/2 the domains 
seem to cache and 1/2 don't. I don't know much about DNS caching but 
why is this and is there anything I can do to improve the situation.

For example: sometimes it seems to find Yahoo in a tick and sometimes 
it takes 2 seconds. Same even w/ local domains which should never 
expire from DNS cache. I understand if DNS has never seen a name 
before it doesn't know where to look, but some just seem to get found 
so much quicker than others.

Can someone enlighten me on this.
