I've upgraded from RH5.2 to 6.1, and the world has fallen down about my
ears.

My IDE drive (/dev/hdc) no longer works. /dev/cdrom is still linked to
/dev/hdc, but attempts to mount the cdrom drive (as hdc or cdrom) come
up with a message indicating that they system does not recognise hdc as
a block device and that I should load some kind of module. The drive
worked fine under RH5.2, suggestions as to how RH6.1 can be kept happy
are welcome.

Also, my samba scripts no longer work. The most intractable reason is
that ssmbmount no longer recognises the -P option to specify a password.
Is there a workaround for this that does not involve using expect to ram
a password down its throat?
