I am having some trouble, and I am hoping that some CD guru on the list can help. Fist of all my system: RH6.2, dual PIII 550, 512 mB ram, Ricoh 4x4x20 CD-RW, IDE-SCSI interface. The problem: xmms plays my music CD's fine, but when I select the disk writer output, nothing is written to disk, it is played as usual. I am trying to convert some more of my CD's to MP3. How is this all related? Well, under RH6.0 I could rip CD's with any of the rippers out there, and xmms also would write them out (after I first installed xmms, the output writer was selected by accident, so all was written to disk). After upgrading to 6.2, whenever I try and use a ripper - cdda2wav, cdparanoia, etc. - my CD-RW sounds like it is going to self destruct. It makes all kinds of racket, and not much is ripped (at least data wise ;-)). I thought I would try xmms to write out wav files and convert them, but as I said, this no longer works either. Can anyone offer assistance or advice? Thanks. -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
