This used to happen to me too, but only under gnome-terminal. I now use
xterm and eterm and it doesn't show. if I switch back to gnome-terminal
again it pops up again.

it looks to me like gnome-terminal is to blame here. I'm using the
standard rh6.1 distro (well, almost) and it had been happening since day
one.

so, if it is gnome-terminal, how do you set or change what terminal type
its using?

Any ideas?
