Hi,

I have a PII 266 system running RH6.1. It's never had any CD-ROM. (I did
an ftp installation of this system.)

Now I have added an IDE CD-ROM as hdd. (Second channel, slave.)

I've so far figured out that I should set a symlink /dev/hdd ->
/dev/cdrom but there is something else missing, since I tried to 'mount
-t iso9660 /dev/hdd /mnt/cdrom' and got the message 'The kernel does not
recognize hdd as a block device'.

What other configuration do I need to perform to make the CD-ROM visible
to the system?

Regards
Gustav
