Anyone tried using the Helixcode install program? While it looks nice,
it sure is
a pain to try to use ... so I figured I'd ask to see if it is just my
ignorance that is
making it appear that way.
I have many times now tried to use it. If I start it directly via the
"lynx -source http:..."
method it (the installer) core dumps some 10-15 minutes into the
install, somewhere
around package 7 (whatever that may be).
If I download the installer and run it I get a network error. That
takes a couple of
hours to occur, somewhere above package 48 (obviously I do not have a T1
connection). If you start it again, it does not restart from where it
left off but rather
starts all over again. All n hours of prior download is lost. I've
gone through this
3 times.
If you go to the ftp site and download all the files to a directory,
then use the installer
to point it to the local directory (using the "Local Media" check-off),
it does not let
you hit the "Next" button so that you can start the install.
I realize this is early in their game (and it looks promising), but I
think it needs some
more basic work. Or am I missing something?
