Hi all, The above says what I'm trying to achieve - to be able to be able to dial into my RH box which has an I-modem hanging off one of the serial ports. I'm half way there - this is what I'm seeing at the moment: My NT Workstation, which is making the call, never gets as far as opening a terminal window to login, which I've asked it to do. The linux box reports the following in /var/log/messages and then the NT box gives up on the connection: Mar 28 19:41:48 internet /sbin/mingetty[22657]: ttyS1: invalid character ^[ in login name Mar 28 19:41:48 internet /sbin/mingetty[22658]: ttyS1: invalid character ^[ in login name Mar 28 19:41:48 internet /sbin/mingetty[22659]: ttyS1: invalid character ^[ in login name Mar 28 19:41:49 internet /sbin/mingetty[22660]: ttyS1: invalid character ^[ in login name Mar 28 19:41:49 internet /sbin/mingetty[22661]: ttyS1: invalid character ^[ in login name Mar 28 19:41:49 internet /sbin/mingetty[22662]: ttyS1: invalid character ^[ in login name Mar 28 19:41:49 internet /sbin/mingetty[22663]: ttyS1: invalid character ^[ in login name It's been a number of years since I played with pppd and getty - I might need some reminders. Plus this is the first tie I've bought ISDN into the equation - any pointers?? Thanks in advance, Toby. -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
