Well, I'm certainly far from an expert....but:
FAT = File Allocation Table
= The index to the whole of your disk.
=You're screwed.
BUT!!!!!!!!!!
Because of the fact that this is the most important information on the hard
drive, there are 2 copies!!!!
I used to use diskedit or ndd under DOS to fix stuff like this, just copy
the second FAT back to the first.
Now, with FAT32 and the likes, you may need a VERY recent version of Norton
Utils.
That's where I'd start looking.
