I'm having a great difficult trying to compile Apache 1.3.9 onto my Redhat
6.0 system. For some reason, a couple of months it worked beautifully, and
now I'm getting errors. And no, I can use the .rpms (because as you can see
from the output, I'm compiling in Apache-SSL as well).

Can anyone tell me what the hell I need to do here:

[rootxxxx/usr/local/src/apache_1.3.9]
./configure --enable-suexec --suexec-caller=nobody --suexec-docroot=/. --sue
xec-userdir=/home/httpd/html --enable-module=most --enable-shared=max --enab
le-module=rewrite --enable-shared=rewrite --with-layout=RedHat
Configuring for Apache, Version 1.3.9 Ben-SSL/1.37

+ using installation path layout: RedHat (config.layout)
Creating Makefile
Creating Configuration.apaci in src
+ enabling mod_so for DSO support
Creating Makefile in src
 + configured for Linux platform
+ setting C compiler to gcc
 + setting C pre-processor to gcc -E
+ checking for system header files
+ using custom target name: httpsd
 + adding selected modules
    o rewrite_module uses ConfigStart/End
+ using -lndbm for DBM support
      enabling DBM support for mod_rewrite
    o dbm_auth_module uses ConfigStart/End
+ using -ldl for vendor DSO support
+ checking sizeof various data types
+ doing sanity check on compiler and options
** A test compilation with your Makefile configuration
** failed. This is most likely because your C compiler
** is not ANSI. Apache requires an ANSI C Compiler, such
** as gcc. The above error message from your compiler
** will also provide a clue.
 Aborting!
