I had the printer set for "fast text Printing" on an hp5si that would
cause the pageination to be off. I unchecked this in printool and page
numbering was correct. It appears that streaming the text straight to
the printer in ascii adds a couple of lines at the top that the normal
filtering cleans up.
Don't know if this is the problem or not but you could also check the
/etc/printcap file to see if a4 is the default paper size. There is a
thread that discussed my experience and the stuff that I found called hp
print anomoly back a month or so. Jose Sanchez helped get me started on
this one.
