I have recently installed Red Hat 6.00, and have been unable to open up KDE.
At the login screen, there is an option to use KDE but clicking on this
before or after putting in my user info, just brings up the log in screen,
and then defaults to Gnome. If I try to switch to KDE from Gnome using shell
switch I just get what I presume is another flavour of Gnome like Nextstep
or Windowmaker.

I would like to try KDE, as I gather that it is more configurable.

Would I be better off to change the boot up to take me to text mode, and
then is there a command to start X windows with the KDE interface.

Can any one help ?
