what kind of error msg do you get when you try to startx?
you may need to adjust your path. look at your old .bashrc and .bash_profile (assuming 
you were running bash before)

FWIW, I think the original ksh is now open sourced...

Two questions:

1:  I'm trying to set ksh as my login shell.  I've downloaded pdksh and it does
run, but there are clearly other settings and/or config files I need to adjust.
For example, I can't even do "startx".

I've been unable to find any docs on this, and would appreciate any pointers.

2.  The return e-mail when I subscribed to this list indicated that there is
list archive on the RedHat site.  I haven't been able to find it.  If someone
could give the URL I'd appreciate it very much.
