ShockMechanics, The Linux version of Flash comes in flash_linux.tar.gz with 3 files, the .so, the .class and the README.Linux (where the instructions are located which I followed to the letter). With regard to the email discussion below, I have also tried this same file on my RedHat Linux 5.2 box running Netscape Communicator 4.07 and that works FINE ! Yet the same source file flash_linux.tar.gz, unpacked, and installed on my RedHat Linux 6.0 box running Communicator 4.7-2 experiences lockups when going to a Flash Website. I don't think it is a matter of damaged files. Please please please tell me there is some kind of work-around, or fix. Also, I do not experience java errors with Netscape, so I don't think the RHLinux 6.0 fix that is spoken of in the README.Linux file applies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hello, It sounds like your Flash Player is damaged. I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling. Stephen Federico Shockmechanic shockwave.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hello, I installed the Flash v4 plugin for Linux on my RedHat Linux 6.0 box, running Netscape Communicator 4.7-2, per the README.Linux file that comes in the flash_linux.tar.gz file. The .so and .class file where copied to the /usr/lib/netscape/plugins directory per instructions. I'm currently logged in as root, so the $HOME is actually /root/.netscape and there is a symbolic link /root/.netscape/"plugins" that refers back to /usr/lib/netscape/plugins. Problem is, when I go to a Flash website, such as on the Macromedia Gallery, the www.whatisthematrix.com site, etc., Netscape just freezes, and no Flash or website items ever load. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
