Thanks - I usually don't log out, using Ctrl-Bkspace instead.  Apparently
the logout function does save the session.

I highlight text with the LMB.  Move the pointer somewhere else in the
xterm window, RMB brings up a menu - New Terminal; Preferences; Hide
menubar.

Center button does nothing, altho the Xconfig file does have it as a 3
button mouse.

Somewhere there's a file where the copy and paste stuff is defined.  Can't
remember what/where it is, altho there's nothing in ~/.Xdefaults
