I have three free accounts which all offer "real" POP3/SMTP-services and I
don't want a webbased email service like hotmail or lycosmail or so,
because i don't want to stay online for accessing my emails. In germany we
have to pay local phone calls per minute and i receive about 200 emails per
day, that requires some time to work on them and i also want to browse old
mails whenever i want. Your suggestion is a workaround but I'm looking for
a solution to my problem.

Thanks for the hint, but that will spread my emails not only over my local
harddrive but also over the web and I want to access my eudora mailboxes
where i know that Kmail can do it. And for leaving the mail on the
mailserver i just need to tell my mail client to do so, I don't see the
reason for getting an IMAP account. I just want that kmail looks at a
different place than /home/dave/Mail for mailboxes. I'm not stuck to Kmail,
i'm fine with other x-email-clients as long as they can do two things:
access eudora mbx mailboxes and look for them in a different place than the
user's Mail directory.
