What you've suggested isn't a fix, it's a different way to run the
software.
Running xfs only on the UNIX socket (using "unix:-1" in XF86Config and
port -1 in xfs) means that no one can connect to the xfs daemon
remotely. Those who are paranoid will regard this as a "Good Thing",
since any security holes found in xfs won't be remotely exploitable.
