Except for one thing: hotfixes are usually not generally available.

Microsoft will make really serious problems fixable with a hotfix that 
is
downloadable.  An example is the bug that makes NT4 barf all over a 
drive
larger than 8.4GB.  Other fixes are listed as "not fully 
regression-tested"
and soforth, and you have to contact Microsoft directly to get them.
