I am trying to install Oracle8i on my linux6.1
box and this requires setting some kernel
parameters like SHMMAX, SHMMIN, SHMMNI, SHMSEG,
SEMMSL, SEMMNI, SEMOPM, SEMVMX. these are the
kernel parameters to adjust the shared memory and
semaphores.
Oracle manual says I need to recompile the kernel
if i change any of the kernel and/or semaphore
parameters. I will also need a reboot for these
parameters to take effect.
How do I recompile the kernel and I take it that
I will need to reboot AFTER the recompile right ?
thanks in advance,
Ketan
anybody out there who has installed Oracle8i on
Linux6.1 ?
