%-> For most of us English speakers "route" rhymes with "snout", though %-> some regional accents rhyme it with root. You call English English a "regional accent"? Route, the way some Americans pronounce it, is either a martial term (as in "routing the enemy") or an engineering one (a router is a machine for shaping e.g. metal).
