I checked out the article and their site (eazel.com btw).

It seems they are just working on a app called Nautilus - they call it a
graphical shell and file manager. 

What surprised me is the changelog shows a lot of entries from Elliot Lee
of Red Hat. I'm curious if this is a collaboration with Red hat, or just a
personal hobby of his..

Can't say say I agree with your comments above. Cut and paste was/is never
a hard thing to learn under X. Anyone curious can figure it out in no
time.
