I have a friend in England with the following problem. He uses KDE. I've seen a discussion on this in the past but cannot locate anything in the archives. Does anyone have a quick explanation of what's going on?? >From my friend Nick: >OK, unless I set xhost +localhost prior to dialing-up, I cannot start any >processes. Appears to be a permissions/ownership problem >somewhere. Also, when a user telnets in, this error message appears:- > >xhost: unable to open display "" > >Now, I have also noticed that when I shutdown the last message reported from >somewhere (it is displayed on the screen, but not in >sys logs?) is:- > >stdin: is not a tty > >Now, after a bit of poking around, I believe these are related. > >Ideas, anyone? > >Nick Best regards, Clarence Donath [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mrdo.com/linux/forum -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
