Has anyone got Oracle running through a simple, internal ipchains
firewall? I'm running RH6.0 patched using the current RH6.0 updates
archive on a machine with two network cards.

I've opened the Oracle TCP port (1521) through the firewall, but the NT
Oracle 8.0 client can't "resolve" (an Oracle term, not a DNS thing) the
server using that port alone. The server is a Solaris box.

I tried enabling all TCP traffic but that didn't improve things. It did
let me telnet to the Oracle server though.

The NT client can successfully do the DNS resolution of the server from
the firewall PC, and if I open all traffic between the server and client
through the firewall the connection does work.

Is there some port or protocol other than TCP 1521 that I need to allow
through too?
