I've never had to specify any such parameters to these cards. I have,
on the other hand, tried tweaking paramaters to find poor results.
The cards themselves should detect whether or not their link (or hub)
supports 100Mbit or 10Mb connections, and full-duplex or half-duplex.
The driver gets this information from the card (not the other way
around, usually). Attempting to force the card into a configuration you
think it should support usually results in lost signal and low/zero
throughput.
If the card isn't working at 100Mbit, check your hardware (hub) to find
out why.
