redhat 6.1 network woes

Hi,   Well it seems that after about 30 -45 min the network interfaces go down for about 5 minutes. Then they act as if nothing had happened. I cant ping them or anything. I have a realtek 8139 and a DM9102 ethernet card. I am using 2.2.14 and the ethernet drivers for both cards from that kernel. The only service I have running on my ports is ssh2. I have dhcpd running and i turned off apmd because I didnt need it. It never worked from the default install of redhat 6.1. I upgraded the kernel but to no avail did it solve my problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
