Hi

For one of our projects we need to get X up on Linux with TV as the display
monitor and we are not succeeding. I got ATI All-In-Wonder card and installed
it on a pentium II machine running redhat linux 6.1. With this setup and when
i start to boot with TV as display i get all the boot messages on the TV screen
and the login/password prompt too. Now i login as superuser and try to do
configuration for X server. It itself probes and comes out with following

PCI Entry : ATI #3D Rage Pro AGP 1X/2X
 Xserver : Mach64 ( i am using XFree86 3.3.x version)

Now i start choosing the display monitor and i choose custom and set mode as
640x480 (60Hz) standard VGA, my TV manual gives resolution as 640x472(60Hz),
it doesnt talk about vertical refresh rates etc. parameters and i tried all the
standard values that come in the setup. When i try to start X, the
screen flickers but the graphics doesn't come up at all. If i use a standard
monitor, X peacefully comes up without any problem. Is there anybody who can
help me in getting my display up on TV, any pointers, articles etc. will be
 really helpful.
I read all the docs available under /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc, only few talk
about TV but they are also talking about something else. I tried
generating the XF86Config again with the values mentioned but to
no success. Here are my TV specifications :

 Power Source : AC 230Volts, 50Hz
 Receiving System : PAL-B/G (AV input PAL/NTSC/PAL -60Hz)
 Channel Coverage : VHF: E2-E12, UHF 21-69, CATV: S1-S41,X,Y,Z,Z+1,Z+2
 Picture Tube : 53Cms Diagonal
Picture Tube Viewable size : 51cms
 Dimensions (WxHxD) 640x472x491
There is no mention of horizontal and vertical refresh rates for the TV,
BTW, does anybody has any specifications of TV which talk about the same.

Please get back to me for additional information.

 Thanks in advance,
 Raju
